Field of Women 2008

Why should we do this event?

Each year approximately 44,100 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in the UK, whilst 1 million people are diagnosed world wide. Statistics show the incidence of breast cancer will continue to rise.

In recent years significant progress has been made in the treatment of breast cancer, however, more needs to be done. Anyone can be affected by breast cancer. This event will go a long way to ensure that those that are do not feel alone.

On the day After registering to participate in Field of women, and armed with your poncho, you will join 10,000 other women and men on Sunday 6th July at Liverpool Cricket Club to form the largest breast cancer support group created in the UK. The excitement and emotion generated will make this event one of the most spectacular and memorable ever created. Afterwards celebrate your achievement to live music and entertainment.

Imagine the day you, along with 10,000 others, fill the silhouette of the woman with 10,000 others. The helicopter hovering above the women beam the overhead picture of the woman you have helped create onto large screens. The cheers ring out and everyone embraces, while the TV stations broadcast your achievements around the world.
