Elaine Owen is the Managing Director of Designated Associates, a company that provides expert consultancy services with socially responsible aims to a variety of organisations across the North West. Elaine developed the company with the express purpose of enabling organisations to develop leadership skills and mentor and coach their staff using leading edge learning techniques to specifically enable individual’s different learning styles. Elaine is passionate about leadership development and training and says it is very important that individuals understand the great range of career development that consultancy delivery provides. Designated Associates has as a variety of opportunities within training, coaching, mentoring and consultancy services that require staff to have excellent organisation, customer service, coaching and mentoring, listening, English and IT Skills. They offer on the job training to staff who can gain a number of qualifications including Apprenticeships, Institute of Leadership and Management and Chartered Management Institute.

The Future:

Elaine says that historically, leadership development and training consultancy has been funded and now that funding is coming to an end she is hopeful that organisations will still invest in the professional development they require. Coaching and Mentoring is growing in popularity in general and this in turn should mean companies like Designated Associates will continue to need to recruit and train the skilled staff they require. Elaine sees Designated Associates as important to Merseyside’s economic growth as the need for consultancy and support services is growing as organisations have to make internal department savings and cuts, as its only a service you pay for when you need or use it. The jobs in this industry are most likely to emerge are within Sales and Marketing, Management, Communications and Co-ordination.
